Executive function and self-regulation skills are the mental processes that enable us to plan, focus attention, remember instructions, and manage multiple tasks successfully. Interestingly, children are not born with these skills, however they are born with the potential to develop them.
When children have opportunities to develop executive function and self-regulation skills, those individuals and society as a whole, experience lifelong benefits. These skills are crucial for learning and development and enable positive behavior which cultivates us to make healthy choices for ourselves and our families.
Main targets during the Executive Functioning Program includes time management, self-monitoring, sustained attention, planning & prioritizing, working memory, organization, emotional control, and task initiation.
